Self Development
Cincinnati, Ohio | Fall 2023
In my freetime, I ran a self-directed exploration project on skydiving helmets, looking at how different brands tackle the design challenges in sportswear and equipment. I got into the details of how each brand approached things like aerodynamics, impact protection, and visibility, and compared their material choices, form language, and overall design philosophy.
Kroger Technology
Cincinnati, Ohio | Jan 2023 - Aug 2023
I worked on creating different prototypes of varying projects for the Research and Development team. I was grateful to be asked back to Kroger to continue work during the summer semester. That semester I experienced UI/UX design as my tasks included gathering data from users in stores, creating prototypes of potential screens, and testing those screens back with the users.
Learn about me!
Hi, I'm Ryan Lannoye, a UX designer in Chicago and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati's industrial design program. I've designed interfaces for aerospace manufacturing, product customization platforms for sports brands, and retail concepts tested with real users in live environments. Because I trained as an industrial designer first, I design screens the way I design objects: for the hand and the moment, not the mockup.
